Monitor Students with GoGuardian

Updated: Oct 23, 2020

Walnut Valley has purchased a new product that can help you monitor your students online. GoGuardian is a classroom management tool that enables teachers to view student screens while using Google Chrome, and it offers so much more!

With GoGuardian teachers have the following tools:

  • see student screens in real time, including all tabs they have open

  • open/close tabs

  • restrict browsing - define the websites you want to allow or block during class

  • receive alerts when a student goes off task

  • lock screens - disable browsing on one or more screens with an optional announcement message

  • snapshot students’ screens to document off task behavior

  • view student usage reports

  • send communications via chat

  • start a video conference - meet with students one-on-one or initiate a group call

  • screen sharing - share your screen with the option to enable audio and/or video to walk students through a lesson

  • timeline view - view every student’s current open tab and previous browsing history

The GoGuardian Chrome extension has been pushed to all student Google accounts. When a student is logged into a district managed Chromebook, their device should be visible on your GoGuardian management screen. If the student is using a personal device, he/she must sign into their Chrome profile. This is different than signing into their Google account. See tutorials below.
